    Overview

    Vane ("Vane", "we", "us") operates the API infrastructure available at vane.build and api.vane.build. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

    What We Collect

    • Account data: name, email address, company name when you register.
    • Usage data: API request logs, attestation counts, error rates — used for billing and debugging only.
    • Technical data: IP addresses, request timestamps, User-Agent strings.
    • Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.

    What We Do Not Collect

    • We do not collect data about your AI agents' actions beyond what you explicitly attest.
    • We do not sell data to third parties.
    • We do not use your data to train AI models.
    • We do not track users across third-party websites.

    How We Use Your Data

    • To provide and operate the Vane API.
    • To send transactional emails (account creation, billing receipts).
    • To debug and improve the service.
    • To comply with legal obligations.

    Data Storage and Security

    All data is stored on infrastructure in the United States. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3. We apply role-based access controls and audit logging to all production systems.

    Data Retention

    We retain account data for the duration of your account plus 90 days after deletion. API logs are retained for 30 days. Attestation records are retained per your account configuration.

    Your Rights

    You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@vane.build. We will respond within 30 days.

    We will notify registered users by email of material changes to this policy at least 30 days in advance.
